The USTA has released the 2021 Tournament Schedule. All National Tournaments (levels 1-3) through December 2021 and all other tournaments through April 2021 have been entered into the NSMTA Tournament List. The remaining 2021 schedule will be live by 12/10/20. Due to the uncertainty of Covid-19, some tournaments have already been rescheduled or cancelled which are noted on the list.

Friend of tennis, Dennis Ralston was diagnosed with a cancerous lesion on his brain and underwent brain surgery on November 2nd to have it removed. With his tumors doubling and some are tripling in size, Denny has come home to hospice as of December 3rd. Dennis and his family have decided not to do radiation since it came with no guaranteed positive outcome. While certain locations may be safe and tennis is a social distanced sport, interstate travel carries an increased risk of Covid. Different regulations, restrictions and quarantine periods, dependent upon the localities involved, were considered in the cancellation of these events.

The ITF Seniors World Tennis Tour is restarting and there are updates to the Circuits Rankings. ITF Seniors Grade 2, Grade 3 and Grade 4 tournaments are scheduled to resume on August 31st and higher graded tournaments are cancelled through 2020. Across all ITF Circuit Rankings, players will not be penalized by losing points if they are unable to play due to travel restrictions or health concerns. The USTA will have similar but different procedures and rankings for USTA tournaments, which will be released shortly. We will publish this information as it becomes available.

Update on Suspension of Play and Event Changes

USTA | May 2020
At present, stay-at-home or shelter-in-place orders have been lifted or modified in some communities, and some are phasing tennis back in as a safe, or in certain cases, an “essential,” activity. Beginning June 1, the suspension of certain USTA Sanctioned products and events will now be at the discretion of the USTA Sections and local health authorities.
